Poisonous Plants

HOW SAFE ARE YOU ?

Do you know which plants in your garden or on the window sill are toxic? It’s amazing how many plants in our everyday lives pose a threat if we abuse them in some way. Indeed one of the most toxic is eaten by most of us daily. Children are not brought up to know such things these days, so can you keep the grandchildren safe? The talks are based on our most current researches but these are not talks all about death and despair but a celebration of the drugs and delights we derive from our poisonous plants, in countryside, home and garden. The topic is so vast that we will offer 12 different versions, one for each month of the year which will be the month of the talk i.e Poisonous Plants in May, Poisonous Plants in June etc. This will give us more chance to bring samples along (no tasting!) and for members to do the same.

Next Talk : Sweet Chestnut
