In
1990 Chris chartered a horse-drawn narrowboat Iona to take a WI group
for a cruise on the river, with a commentary on the way down and serving cream
teas on the way back. Due to that day's success, we have continued taking
other groups on this trip ever since.
This
book contains much of the basic commentary on these cruises, relating to the
works of the boat, the local history interest, plus the flowers and trees
that are passed on the way. The content is varied to cater for local history
groups, gardening societies or the general enthusiast.
