Rowan, Tree of Protection, this title draws from material
gathered from talks over the past few years and is presented in
the themes specific to each tree, illustrated as usual.
This collection of the folklore does not aim to be at all complete
but is based upon those traditions that are still remembered - the
raw material has come from Surrey and Sussex, North East Hampshire,
East Berkshire, South West Middlesex (Spelthorne) and South Buckinghamshire
but of course the people of those counties have come from far and
wide, bringing with them the traditions of other districts.
Thanks
to them we can glimpse the world of the Mother Tree - the Eldar
- but it is very important to remember that it is only a glimpse
and that it is not as possible to recreate the full picture of this
great tree.
